TERRAN LAST GUN
Solo Exhibition
6.13.26 - 8.22.26
Terran Last Gun is a Blackfeet artist whose work explores themes of identity, culture, and the complexities of the modern Native experience. Drawing from his deep-rooted connection to his heritage, Last Gun combines traditional Native American artistic practices with contemporary techniques, resulting in a bold and dynamic body of work. His work speaks to the intersection of history and the present moment, offering a nuanced perspective on Native identity and the power of storytelling through visual art.
This solo show features a variety of mediums, including painting, sculpture, and mixed media, offering viewers an immersive experience that invites reflection and conversation about the evolving narrative of Native art in the modern world.
His work often employs geometric aesthetics and contributes to an ancient yet continuous Piikani narrative. It bridges the ancient and the contemporary, all while creating visual color stimulation through his varied approaches to making art: printmaking, painting, photography, and ledger drawing that utilizes antique ledger sheets and documents. He reveals fragments of time, history, and Indigenous abstraction—an art form that has continued to survive in North America for thousands of years. His work is bold, vivid, and possesses abstract minimalist qualities that are potent in meaning, content, and place.
